Accessories - Microphone Holders & Shock mounts

Keeping your mic still and securely in place is important when you choose an accessory to hold your mic. In addition, some situations require the use of a shock mount to prevent external vibrations, which can affect the mic performance.

DPA has a wide range of mic holders, gooseneck mounts and stereo and surround booms, as well as effective shock mount solutions. Most of our solutions are for pencil mics, but we do have a couple gooseneck  mounts for our miniature lavaliers and instrument mics. All of our solutions ensure the mics are held securely in place.

Compact Shock Mount
CSM4000

The CSM4000 Compact Shock Mount, also known as "The Radiator Mascot", is a shock mount designed for rubber suspension of Pencil Microphones with MMP-ER/ES or MMP-GR/GS preamplifiers on standard microphone stands, the TB4000 Table Base or the MB4000 Magnet Base.

The recommended extra soft Rubber Mounts provides efficient absorption of any vibrations that might occur during use. It is fitted with one DDS0019 Rubber Mount for Ø 19 mm microphones as standard. It can also be fitted with Rubber Mounts for both Ø 11-13 mm and Ø 16 mm microphones. The robust plastic ring offers excellent protection of the microphone if used, for example, on a drum kit.

The CSM4000 Compact Shock Mount is fitted with a thread adapter. This allows it to be used on up to three of the most popular international standard threads used on microphone stands.

The CSM4000 Compact Shock Mount is unfortunately not compatible with DPA 4017 Shotgun Microphone.

Shock Mount
SM1500

This shock mount uses a double-pole construction on an adjustable microphone stand base. Both omnidirectional and directional microphones – compact as well as larger – fit this mount. It is an especially important piece of gear when using pressure gradient (directional) microphones, which need extra supression of  vibrations.

Based on the Rycote® Lyre™ suspension system, almost any microphone can be used in this shock mount by simply adding another Lyre™ rubber piece. The lighter the microphone, the softer the rubber should be.

The design of this shock mount is extremely flexible. The holders can be mounted facing both upwards or downwards. The poles can be adjusted by pushing to one side or the other.

MMP-C Suspension Mount
SM4000-C

This is an optional accessory for all (short) pencil microphones that have an MMP-C, MMP-E or MMP-G preamp. By wrapping the coil around the cable of the microphone preamp, the mount allows the microphone to be hung from the ceiling or the like and be oriented in any direction desired, just by bending the holder.

Shock Mount
UA0897

The UA0897 Shock Mount is designed for use in environments where vibration levels are unusually high. Its ultra-compact, robust design significantly reduces the amount of vibration that reaches the mic.

This shock mount was designed using modern vibration measuring techniques using Brüel & Kjær's world famous vibration test equipment. Unlike other shock mounts, the vibration reduction is clearly specified. It can be used stand mounted in the studio or in hand-held boom applications.

Use extra soft rubber mounts for lightweight microphones and medium soft rubber mounts for heavier types.

The UA0897 Shock Mount is supplied as standard with a Rubber Mount for 19 mm microphones. It is fitted with a thread adapter, which allows it to be used on up to three of the most popular international standard threads used on microphone stands.

Compact XY/ORTF Stereo Holder
CXO4000

The CXO4000 Compact XY/ORTF Stereo Holder allows mounting DPA Pencil Microphones with MMP-ER/ES or MMP-GR/GS preamplifiers in both a coincident XY stereo configuration as well as in a near-coincident ORTF combined time and intensity difference stereo configuration.

Two hooks in the middle of the stereo holder are for XY stereo, while the two hooks on the side are for ORTF stereo. It is even possible to use both stereo setups simultaneously in order to compare afterwards in the editing process. You can also use the holder to record in surround sound using one front and one back-orientated stereo setup.

This lightweight holder is a convenient and practical tool for mounting Pencil Microphones on a single microphone stand so they take up very little space.

The holder is made of black anodized aluminum and ethyl propylene rubber rings to ensure durability and stability. For flexibility, the holder also includes a thread adapter for attachment to most common microphone stands.

In order to receive an authentic reproduction of the total sound field (direct and ambient sound elements) it is extremely important to use microphones that have a linear and clean off-axis response. Likewise, it is critical to use two microphones that are, within a narrow tolerance, identical in frequency response and sensitivity.

The CXO4000 Compact XY/ORTF Stereo Holder is unfortunately not compatible with DPA 4017 Shotgun Microphone.
