EMS Series

The EMS Series is the core of the EM Acoustics range – a variety of products aimed for a wide variety of applications in both mobile and permanent installation scenarios. The EMS Series offers ideal and elegant solutions for speech, music reinforcement, fill/delay applications and corporate A/V – with or without subwoofer support. The series comprises passive fullrange products from 4″ up to 15″, all built to the same exacting standards that EM Acoustics products are renowned for. Alongside the loudspeakers themselves are a wide range of rigging hardware and other accessories for both touring and fixed installation.

EMS-41

Ultra compact passive coaxial loudspeaker

The EMS-41 is a two-way passive coaxial loudspeaker, using a 4” (102mm) low frequency transducer and coaxially mounted 0.85” (21.6mm) high frequency compression driver. The enclosure is an infinite baffle design designed to provide a much smoother LF rolloff and extended bass response than would be expected from an enclosure of this size.

The drive unit is housed within a compact, sealed enclosure constructed from premium 12mm (1/2”) and 18mm (3/4”) multi-laminate Birch plywood with curved, trapezoidal sides designed for a pleasing aesthetic suitable for many venue types. Three M8 threaded fixings are incorporated around the enclosure (one top, one bottom, and one on the rear) for attachment of rigging hardware and safeties. The enclosure includes a pair of Neutrik® speakON™ NL4 connectors for input and enclosure link, as well as a pair of colour-coded push terminals which will accept bare wire connections. A tough perforated steel grille protects the drive units from damage, and can be quickly removed for service purposes. The enclosure is finished in black or white textured paint as standard, however RAL colour matching options are also available.

The EMS-41 is ideal for theatrical spot effects, fill loudspeakers and delays, background sound, as well as for corporate and A/V use. Due to the discreet appearance, the EMS-41 can also find use in domestic A/V systems and studio monitoring. For ease of use, the EMS-41 is supplied with an adjustable horizontal mounting yoke, and further optional accessories are available for single-point mounting from the rear.

The EMS-41 requires a single amplifier channel, and should be used with professional power amplifiers capable of delivering 150-250W RMS into a 12-ohm load. For optimal results, the DQ Series Advanced System Amplifiers should be used.

EMS-51
EMS-51

Ultra compact two-way passive loudspeaker

The EMS-51 is completely passive, yet outperforms many bi-amplified or DSP-processed designs. The enclosure contains a 5” (127mm) LF drive unit, linked via the internal passive crossover network to a 1.1” (28mm) diaphragm HF soft dome drive unit which produces a 75° conical dispersion pattern. Unusually for a loudspeaker of this size, it is an infinite baffle design which gives a smoother LF rolloff and a much more robust LF performance than would be expected from an enclosure of this size.

The robust enclosure is constructed from premium multi-laminate Birch plywood and is finished in impact resistant textured paint. Two NL4 connections are provided on the rear for input and enclosure link. The front of the loudspeaker is protected by a rigid steel grille. Various threaded fixings are provided in the enclosure for the included rigging hardware. RAL colour matching and weather protection options are also available if required.

The EMS-51 requires a single amplifier channel, and should be used with professional power amplifiers capable of delivering 300-500W RMS into an 8-ohm load. For optimum results, the EM Acoustics DQ Series Advanced System Amplifiers should be used.

EMS-61

Compact two-way passive reflex-loaded loudspeaker

The EMS-61 is completely passive, yet outperforms many bi-amplified or DSP-processed designs. The enclosure contains an 6.5” (165mm) neodymium LF drive unit, linked via the internal passive crossover network to a 1.7” (44mm) diaphragm, 1” (25mm) exit HF compression drive unit. The HF drive unit is coupled to a constant-directivity waveguide, which produces a 90° x 60° dispersion pattern which can be easily rotated if required.

The multi-angle enclosure along with the rotatable HF waveguide allows use in both horizontal and vertical orientations, as well as use as a compact stage monitor. The robust enclosure is constructed from premium multi-laminate Birch plywood and is finished in impact resistant textured paint. Two NL4 connections are provided for input and enclosure link. The front of the loudspeaker is protected by a rigid steel grille backed by acoustically transparent foam. Various threaded fixings are provided in the enclosure for optional rigging hardware. RAL colour matching and weather protection options are also available if required.

The EMS-61 requires a single amplifier channel, and should be used with professional power amplifiers capable of delivering 300-500W RMS into an 8-ohm load. For optimum results, the EM Acoustics DQ Series Advanced System Amplifiers should be used.
