Amplifiers

The d&b amplifiers are designed specifically to power d&b loudspeakers and are the beating heart of all d&b systems.
The all-embracing functionality of the d&b amplifiers can be accessed via the d&b Remote network, through either Ethernet (OCA/AES70) or CAN-Bus, providing all the power for effective system control. All d&b amplifiers incorporate sophisticated Digital Signal Processing capabilities for comprehensive loudspeaker management, switchable filter functions, remote capabilities and user-definable controls. The dual channel D6 amplifier offers a 4-band parametric equalizer along with 340 ms of signal delay per channel. The D20 and D80 provide two user-definable 16-band equalizers with parametric, notch, shelving and asymmetric filters and up to 10 seconds of delay, all of which can be applied to each of the four channels. Sharing these features, the 10D and 30D are dedicated to installation systems, perfectly fulfilling the needs of any permanent sound reinforcement requirement. Whether discreetly integrating inside a venue or operating in a rider driven performance space, these devices provide installation specific functionalities, including enhanced system status monitoring features and GPIOs for extended input routing capabilities. All d&b amplifiers feature analog and AES3 digital inputs for each channel, not to mention System check, Input and Load monitoring, Overvoltage protection, temperature and signal controlled cooling, and switch mode power supplies. All in all, the amplifiers do more than drive d&b loudspeakers; they realize the full potential of the d&b system approach. To increase interoperability with third party control systems to the highest level, a variety of plug-ins are available.

10D Amplifier

The 2 RU, four channel 10D amplifier is designed for permanent integration with applications that require lower Sound Pressure Level (SPL) capabilities. This device contains extended input management functionalities with separate Input Gain control for each input channel, General Purpose Inputs/Outputs (GPIO) and a General Fault connector. Enhanced system status monitoring functions such as Input and Load monitoring ensure suitability in an emergency situation. The 10D shares the same Digital Signal Processing platform as the latest generation of four channel d&b amplifiers, providing configurations for smaller d&b loudspeakers as well as a linear mode. For larger applications comprising the A-Series, J-Series, SL-Series, V-Series, the M2 monitor, the B22-SUB and systems which require a higher SPL output, the 30D installation specific amplifier is required. The DSP integrated within the 10D incorporates comprehensive loudspeaker management, switchable filtering functions as well as user definable equalization and delay capabilities. This includes two 16-band equalizers, providing optional parametric, asymmetric, shelving or notch filtering and up to 10 s (= 3440 m/11286 ft) signal delay, all of which can be applied independently to each channel. The 10D is accessible via the d&b Remote network, either via Ethernet using the Open Control Architecture protocol (OCA) or CAN-Bus using RJ45 connectors. The 10D is controlled using the integrated web interface, which enables access via a browser, or using the d&b R1 Remote control software. The device itself contains LEDs to display power, input, data and mute status. The LoadMatch function integrated within the 10D amplifier electrically compensates for the properties of loudspeaker cable used. The 10D incorporates Class D amplifiers utilizing a power supply with active Power Factor Correction (PFC) suitable for mains voltages 100 V/127 V, 50 – 60 Hz and 208 V/240 V, 50 - 60 Hz and maintains a stable output when used with weak or unstable mains supplies. Input and output connectors are all Euroblock sockets.

D20 Amplifier

The 2 RU four channel D20 amplifier is ideally suited to mobile and installation applications which require low to medium Sound Pressure Level (SPL) capabilities. The D20 features the same Digital Signal Processing (DSP) platform as the latest generation of d&b amplifiers, containing configurations for all d&b loudspeakers except the J-Series and the M2 monitor, plus a linear mode. The signal delay capability enables user definable settings of up to 10 s (= 3440 m/11286 ft), which can be applied independently to each channel. The same applies to the two 16-band equalizers, providing optional parametric, asymmetric, shelving or notch filtering. The D20 incorporates a colour TFT touchscreen, offering quick access to the menu structure, while the rotary encoder can be used for fine adjustment. The front panel and the integrated touchscreen are tilted up for easy operation when the amplifier is below eye level. The equal ratio of signal input to amplifier output channels increases application flexibility particularly for monitor, frontfill or effect channel use. The LoadMatch function integrated within the D20 amplifier electrically compensates for the properties of loudspeaker cable used. The D20 incorporates Class D amplifiers utilizing a power supply with active Power Factor Correction (PFC) suitable for mains voltages 100 V - 240 V, 50 - 60 Hz and maintains a stable output when used with weak or unstable mains supplies. An NL8 provides all outputs on a single connector for loudspeaker multicores. Dual channel mode is driven through four individual NL4 connectors, while Mix TOP/SUB and 2-Way Active mode output configurations for applicable d&b loudspeakers are available via two central NL4 connectors. etherCON and RJ 45 connectors enable access to the d&b Remote network through OCA/AES70 via Ethernet and through CAN-Bus respectively.

D80 Amplifier
Z2710.001

D80 Amplifier

The 2 RU four channel D80 amplifier is a high power density amplifier, ideally suited for use in both mobile and installation environments. It contains configurations for all d&b loudspeakers and a linear mode. The signal delay capability enables user definable settings of up to 10 s (= 3440 m/11286 ft) to be applied independently to each channel. The same applies to the two 16-band equalizers, providing optional parametric, asymmetric, shelving or notch filtering. The D80 incorporates a colour TFT touchscreen, offering quick access to the menu structure, while the rotary encoder can be used for fine adjustment. The front panel and the integrated touchscreen of the D80 amplifier is tilted up for ease of operation when the amplifier is below eye level. The equal ratio of signal input to amplifier output channels increases the application flexibility particularly for monitor, frontfill or effect channel use. The LoadMatch function integrated within the D80 amplifier enables the electrical compensation of loudspeaker cable properties, without the need for an extra conductor. This results in an increased accuracy of audio reproduction over a bandwidth of up to 20 kHz, preserving the tonal balance when cable lengths of up to 70 m (230 ft) are used. The D80 incorporates Class D amplifiers utilizing a power supply with active Power Factor Correction (PFC) suitable for mains voltages 100 V/120 V/200 V/230 V, 50 - 60 Hz and maintains a stable output when used with weak or unstable mains supplies. An NL8 provides all outputs on a single connector, while individual outputs are optionally NL4 or EP5 connectors. RJ 45 and etherCON connectors enable access to the d&b Remote network via CAN-Bus and OCA/AES70 via Ethernet respectively. For further information regarding the integration of additional functions into the D80, please contact your Distributor.
