Column loudspeakers

The d&b columns provide a sound that is warm and coherent, sonically in keeping with all other d&b loudspeakers.
The d&b column cabinets are architecturally sensitive with discreet modeling, flush mounting and customizable finish. Designed to deliver an optimal sonic performance from a visually unobtrusive design, the d&b Column loudspeakers exhibit a cardioid dispersion pattern, helping to transform the sound of even the most reverberant spaces. Like all d&b loudspeakers, the d&b Columns are scalable, flexible and efficient, with dedicated rigging accessories and specific paint finishes for seamless visual integration. Weather protection is also available.

16C Column Loudspeaker

The 16C 2-way passive column loudspeaker is the smallest in the Series housing four 4” neodymium drivers and a 0.75” compression driver mounted on a CD horn. The HF horn has a nominal dispersion of 90° x 40° (h x v). The 4" drivers are arranged in a unique cardioid setup radiating through waveguide elements at the front and damped ports at the rear of the cabinet. This design provides a constant directivity pattern of 90° in the horizontal plane with a broadband attenuation to the rear of approximately 18 dB. A cardioid dispersion pattern produces minimal energy behind the loudspeaker, reducing reflections and resulting in balanced level distribution across the listening area while increasing gain before feedback when working with open microphones. The 16C loudspeaker enclosure is constructed from an extruded aluminium back and a metal baffle, while the front and sides of the cabinet are protected by a metal grill. The rear of the cabinet features continuous T-slot rails for mounting purposes, a single NL4 input and a 4-pole Phoenix combicon terminal connector. The xC-Series loudspeakers are available in white or black as standard, or can be provided with the Special Colour (SC) option that can be executed in all RAL colours.

24C Column Loudspeaker

The 24C 2-way passive column loudspeaker features six 4” neodymium drivers and a HF array comprising six 1.1” dome tweeters providing a nominal horizontal dispersion of 90°. The HF array has a nominal vertical dispersion of 20°, which can be adjusted constantly between 0° and -14° to target audience listening areas. The beam produced by the low / mid drivers is tilted downwards by 5°, offering significant directivity down to 370 Hz. The xC-Series loudspeakers are available in white or black as standard, or can be provided with the Special Colour (SC) option that can be executed in all RAL colours. The 24C can be combined with the 24C-E passive extension increasing vertical pattern control down to 190 Hz.

24C-E Column extension
Z1710.001

24C-E Column Extension

The 24C-E passive extender is for use with the 24C column loudspeaker. The cabinet houses six 4” neodymium drivers, providing an extension of vertical directivity down by a further octave to 190 Hz. Connections between the loudspeakers are made passively, requiring only one amplifier channel. The 4" drivers are arranged in a unique cardioid setup utilizing damped ports at the rear of the cabinet. This design provides a broadband attenuation to the rear of approximately 18 dB. The 24C-E loudspeaker enclosure is constructed from an extruded aluminium back and a metal baffle, while the front and sides of the cabinet are protected by a metal grill. The 24C-E features extendable rails to accommodate the attachments of the 24C. N-lok connectors are incorporated within the cabinet to link with the 24C loudspeaker. The xC-Series loudspeakers are available in white or black as standard, or can be provided with the Special Colour (SC) option that can be executed in all RAL colours.
